A three-turbine wind farm is proposed on the edge of a disused airfield in Leicestershire, close to the town of Market Harborough.
Energy for All is seeking to take the project forward on a cooperative basis so that the wind farm would be owned and operated by the local community.
It has therefore been especially important to consult with local people and make sure that the design is as good as it can be.
Randall Thorp’s involvement includes:
Meeting with the Local Planning Authority to agree the most sensitive views that need to be considered;
- Consulting with the local community at a series of public exhibitions;
- Exploring a number of alternative site layouts to achieve the best possible appearance in key views; and
- Completing the Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment for inclusion in the Environmental Statement.
Particular consideration is being given to the potential effect upon Market Harborough and a village conservation area located 1km to the south of the site. |
