Proposals for the development of land adjacent to Germany Beck at Fulford, York, have been developed over a number of years by Persimmon Homes (York) Ltd, with Hogg the Builder Ltd, in consultation with York City Council. An outline application was first submitted in April 2001, following which the details of the scheme were subject to community consultation at meetings convened by York City Council.
In August 2003 the scheme was recommended to the planning committee of York City Council, but was called in for determination by the Secretary of State. Outline planning consent was granted following a public inquiry in 2005.
Randall Thorp were responsible for the coordination of the masterplan and providing landscape design, landscape assessment and expert witness services.
The scheme includes the design of new SUDS infrastructure and a nature park with significant flood protection capacity. |
