Randall Thorp were appointed in 1999 by General Healthcare Group to help gain detailed planning approvals for the expansion of an existing private hospital, taking into consideration the historical parkland landscape features of the site, including a woodland belt and a large collection of mature specimen trees.
As Landscape Architects we:
- Prepared detailed tree surveys to assess health, condition and landscape value;
- Advised in respect of the routing of a new road through the woodland;
- Prepared landscape proposals, including design of the new vehicle and pedestrian network to minimise impact of development on the existing trees.;
- Assisted BAAD architects in location and footprint of new buildings;
- Prepared detailed drawings for construction purposes including specialist construction over tree roots;
- Undertook site inspections during the construction period.
Planning approval was awarded and work was undertaken during 2003-2004. |
