Randall Thorp have been involved with the development of this business park on behalf of Peel holdings for over 15 years.
Our Masterplan and planning application was granted permission in 1993. However given the changed circumstances since the original planning permission was granted, the opportunity was taken to re-assess the development potential of the site and a revised proposal was prepared and submitted to the planning authority in 2006.
Full planning permission was granted for part of the site and outline permission for the remainder.
The site is located on pasture between Pendle Water and Barrowford Road to the west of Barrowford. Throughout the site the ground is undulating but generally the gradient falls towards the river. Carr Hall conservation area lies to the north west of the site. As such the landscape issues considered included retaining an element of the rural character of the site, minimizing visual impact on the surrounding residential areas and Carr Hall conservation area and retaining the visual amenity and recreational function of the river banks.
Tasks included:
- Vegetation survey of all trees and hedgerows and tree protection measures;
- Production of the masterplan;
- Production of drawings to illustrate the landscape infrastructure;
- Detailed landscape proposals for the entrance to the business park.
