The benefits of these proposals, needed to outweigh the loss of some land that had previously been used as playing fields. We worked with Peel to develop their ideas for a new marina for Canal users and improved access, towpath, parking and seating facilities for local people and new residents.
Our input included:
- Preparing a masterplan for planning submission to Trafford BC for both the residential and recreational developments to achieve a strong sense of place;
- Providing graphics and consultation material to convince local people of the overall benefits of the scheme; Developing proposals for improvements to offsite playing fields as mitigation;
- Producing landscape construction drawings;
- Running the works contract to oversee completion of the landscape works to the highest possible standards.
The subsequent addition of mooring pontoons and a chandlery building has completed what has become a valuable canal facility and local amenity area. |
