Miller Homes were seeking planning permission for new homes on a sensitive greenfield site on the edge of the village of Bramhope, Leeds. Randall Thorp was appointed as masterplan and landscape consultants for the project.

The scheme sought permission for 380 new homes, together with a convenience store and open space including: a village green, allotments, community orchard and small country park. The scheme was refused planning permission.

Miller Homes went on to appoint Randall Thorp to present evidence at the subsequent Planning Appeal regarding: landscape, character and design issues. Nicola Jacob prepared and presented the landscape, character and design evidence together with cross examination notes for Miller Home’s Counsel.

The Secretary of State agreed with the Inspector that planning permission should be approved.

"Miller Homes set out very clear evidence highlighting ... the particular benefits for ... Bramhope that would arise from the [granting] of planning permission. "
