Stanion Planning Approval January 2012
Working with a new range of contemporary houses created a steep learning curve for both ourselves and our client Ben Bailey Homes. Close cooperation and a good dialogue with the Planning Authority meant that our detailed layout and elevations for 37 new homes was swiftly granted Reserved Matters Planning approval. The Big Leap play area August 2011
Our largest play area commission to date opened in Cambourne in time for the school holidays, and has quickly proved to be a huge success with both kids and parents. Grimes Dyke, Leeds July 2011
Taylor Wimpey and Persimmon are celebrating the grant of Outline approval by the Secretary of State for this 400 home scheme on the edge of Leeds. Randall Thorp’s re-design of the scheme to remove 9 design based reasons for refusal prior to the inquiry helped them to win this Appeal. See the Design and Access Statement here

Eco Build 2011 March 2011
Why Invest in Landscape and Green Infrastructure? Randall Thorp was invited by the Landscape Institute to present two seminars at Eco Build, London, on the 2nd of March. Dick Longdin together with Neville Stebbing from Taylor Wimpey Strategic Projects, used Cambourne as a case study to examine why investment in landscape needn't cost the earth. See the video here

Landscape Institute Awards Nov 2010
Randall Thorp have been awarded two national planning and design awards for their work on Cambourne New Settlement in Cambridgeshire. We were Winners in the ‘Design over 5ha’ category and were Highly Commended in the ‘Local Landscape Planning’ category, announced at the Awards Ceremony on 18th November. Read more here
