Randall Thorp were lead consultants, working closely with Cambridgeshire County Council Highways Department and WSP Engineers to produce a bespoke Highway Design Guide for this new settlement. The Guide was in many ways a precursor to Manual for Streets, putting the needs of people before that of vehicles. Following this, Randall Thorp then led on the design of all infrastructure highways throughout the settlement to deliver a movement network that prioritises pedestrians over cars and creates a network of attractive routes that enhance the sense of place.
