Landscape survey and feasibility study, LVIA, Soft landscape proposals, Planting plans

Randall Thorp prepared a Landscape and Visual Appraisal to identify the sensitive receptors and key views of the site. This appraisal informed the layout for the scheme to ensure that the taller structures could be positioned to minimise visual effects. Planting plans incorporated woodland blocks and tree planting around the entrance areas to provide screening.

Randall Thorp submitted and agreed the scoping for the LVIA chapter of the ES with Wirral Borough Council prior to the preparation of the LVIA. As details of the re-refinery emerged it was recognised that the proposed development should be considered as a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project (NSIP). Some work was undertaken for the Preliminary Environmental Information Report (PEIR) before the project was put on hold.
