Taylor Wimpey submit RM application for 270 new homes in Formby

We are delighted to have assisted Taylor Wimpey with their Reserved Matters planning application for 270 new homes on land at Brackenway, Formby. For this latest stage of the project, Randall Thorp prepared detailed landscape proposals and provided Design Justification Statement coordination services. The application delivers almost 12 hectares of public open space which includes a significant extension to a Local Nature Reserve. A network of open grassland and drainage ponds will be created across the site, along with a new on-site play area, extensive ecological enhancements, and improved footpath connections through out the site.

Taylor Wimpey Reserved Matters success in Cheshire East

15 March 2022

Cheshire East planning committee resolved to delegate approval of a scheme for 325 homes at Land West of David Whitby Way, Crewe. Randall Thorp assisted Taylor Wimpey with their Homes England tender, and subsequently provided landscape and Design Justification Statement (DJS) coordination services for the application. The site comprises the residential element of a wider project involving a health centre, offices, restaurants and more, which had secured outline approval in 2016.

Progress at Grand Union Phase 1

Danielle was on site at Grand Union Phase 1 this week to review progress on the landscape works contract. After two years working on this project for St George Developers we’re very happy to see how the external areas are taking shape.

North West Preston planning consent

An outline planning proposal for up to 320 dwellings, local centre and land for a new secondary school on land at Tabley Lane, has been unanimously approved. Randall Thorp provided masterplanning, LVIA and DAS services for the planning application. The greatest challenge for the application was viability. We were responsible for the development of multiple masterplan options providing for a range of non-residential land uses at various scales, as part of a wider residential development throughout the viability appraisal process.

National award for our work at Cambourne West

We are thrilled to hear that our work for Taylor Wimpey East Anglia has enabled them to win the top award in the annual Taylor Wimpey Place Making Awards. The judges praised our work, saying "Cambourne West Phase 1 illustrates a quality approach to masterplanning and design coding at the early stage and what great results can be achieved by the highly skilled team."

Planning Consent for 131 Homes in Rossendale

We are pleased to have helped our clients Taylor Wimpey to secure full planning consent for 131 homes on land off Holcombe Road in Haslingden, Rossendale. In 2011, Randall Thorp undertook landscape analysis and developed the conceptual masterplan for the site, this was used throughout the site promotion process.

Team day to RHS Bridgewater

A lovely morning out to visit RHS Bridgewater as part of the team's CPD. Randall Thorp's involvement with the site goes back decades, so it was great to see how the research that Edward Thorp did into the history of the site has been translated into the world class garden it now is.

Planning application submitted at former University of Law, Christleton

16 September 2021

We are pleased to have assisted Bridgemere Land, with the Steve Morgan Foundation, Castle Green Homes and Blueoak Estates, with their full planning application which is seeking planning and listed building consent to deliver offices and 42 homes at the former University of Law, Christleton. The project includes the restoration of the grade two listed Christleton Hall which will be converted to offer 18 apartments, including four affordable homes. The scheme also includes sensitive improvements to other heritage assets, including a former walled garden on the site.
