We are pleased to announce that Ellie Forshaw, Senior Urban Designer at Randall Thorp, has successfully completed training for the Building with Nature (BwN) framework, and is now qualified as an approved BwN assessor.
As a BwN assessor, Ellie is trained to evaluate development projects and policies against BwN's comprehensive environmental, ecological, and placemaking standards, with only the best schemes being awarded a Building with Nature Accreditation. First launched in 2018, and updated in 2021, the BwN standards cover 12 environmental and ecological benchmarks for water, wildlife and wellbeing. They aim to put natural and ecological perspectives at the centre of policy and development in a way that benefits people and nature.
Building with Nature is recognised and supported by an increasing number of organisations including The Wildlife Trust, Landscape Institute, Royal Town Planning Institute, and the Chartered Institute for Ecology and Environmental Management.
Ellie said, "I’m looking forward to offering a new service to our clients where I can assess development proposals and advise ways in which high-quality green infrastructure can be incorporated to maximise benefits for both people and the natural world, helping clients to achieve their goal of receiving a Building with Nature Accreditation.”
