Townscape and Visual Impact Assessment, Green Infrastructure Plan, detailed landscape design and input into the Design and Access statement

Randall Thorp prepared the Townscape and Visual Impact Assessment and Green Infrastructure Strategy for this landmark development at the junction of Botanical Ave and Talbot Road, Stretford. The planning application seeks approval for the delivery of 149 apartments across two buildings of six and thirteen storeys, with associated semi-public open space.

The proposed landscape strategy takes cues from the Victorian Botanical Gardens and Festival Exhibition that were once located adjacent to the site. An area of open space will traverse the site between the building. This space includes small, private  garden areas for ground floor apartments and a larger, semi-private garden, sub-divided into smaller communal areas with lawns, seating and planting for residents. This attractive and well‐designed area benefits from active frontages on all sides ensuring the spaces will feel safe and secure.

The southern boundary will comprise a series of smaller private garden frontages providing access to the townhouses, these gardens included tree planting and small shrub beds that create a characterful, unified and attractive frontage on to Talbot Road.

Above it all, a Sky Garden provides a stunning outdoor space for residents to enjoy spectacular views from the 11th floor!
