Randall Thorp were appointed to design and deliver a series of play areas and a formal park as part of the initial phase of the Northstowe development, a 10,000 home new town located to the north west of Cambridge.

As part of the design process Randall Thorp carried out a series of consultation events with local community groups, the local council and other key stakeholders. The results of these events and best practice guidance on natural play were used to deliver a series of spaces which were challenging and vibrant, as well as meeting the needs and aspirations of the local community.
