Randall Thorp were appointed as landscape consultants to assist the diocesan architect with the refurbishment of the church and its grounds. The abundance of both landscape and historic features combined with the sensitivity of working around graves and tombs meant that the consultant team had to show empathy not just to the client, but also the local community.

Working closely with the diocesan architect, local authority conservation officer and English Heritage ensured the demands of the site, together with the wishes of the modern parish were met within the final design.
