An outline planning application for a new luxury hotel and Ryder Cup standard golf course on the historic site of Worsley New Hall, formerly home to Francis Egerton, the first Earl of Ellesmere.

Before this project was put on hold, Randall Thorp were responsible for writing the Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment and coordinating the overall masterplan for the site. Our key role was to ensure that the hotel design, garden design, golf course design, vehicular circulation and pedestrian movement network all worked harmoniously within the landscape, whilst developing opportunities to showcase the site’s rich history.

The Worsley New Hall site has recently been granted planning approval to be developed as the new RHS Bridgewater garden.
