We are pleased to be part of the design team responsible for the proposed redevelopment of around 10 acres of brownfield land at Robert Hall Street and West Park Street, Ordsall. Set to be redeveloped to provide 137 houses and 137 apartments, the site provides an opportunity to deliver a variety of much needed affordable housing in the area, while also improving local amenity space.

Working as part of a multi-disciplinary design team, Randall Thorp were responsible for preparing the landscape strategy, detailed landscape designs, as well as providing input to the Design and Access Statement for the full planning application. The scheme needed to utilise SuDS so we designed a system of rain gardens and swales running through the public realm to create exciting usable spaces that connected to the wider community.  Working alongside the ecology team and the within the tight constraints of the site, we were able to achieve biodiversity net gain of more than 10%.
