Practice partner Dick Longdin has been awarded the title 'Recognised Practitioner in Urban Design' by the Urban Design Group. The Urban Design Group is a campaigning membership organisation with over 1000 members who care about the quality of life in our cities, towns and villages, and believe that raising standards of urban design is central to its improvement. Recognised Practitioners in Urban Design are committed professionals who can demonstrate exceptional expertise and knowledge in the subject. It is a designation that is being increasingly recognised by industry and clients as carrying weight.

Randall Thorp is pleased to announce that outline planning permission has been granted for 286 homes on our client’s site in Formby. Randall Thorp was a key part of the design team providing masterplanning and LVIA services.

Beaulieu, Chelmsford has been used as a best practice example at the Government's Better Design For Better Places Conference. Randall Thorp assisted our clients Countryside Properties and L&Q during the first phase of the scheme, overseeing masterplan development and designing and delivering all aspects of the public realm, including the arrival spaces, The Chase, The Heath and Beaulieu Square.

Randall Thorp’s evidence on behalf of our client Fylde District Council and attendance as expert witness for landscape, townscape and character, assisted our team in winning FOUR conjoined planning appeals in decisions announced at the beginning of February.

January sees Danielle attending Public Consultation events in our role as lead designer and landscape architect for a 950 home Reserved Matters Application. This application forms the first phase of development for Cambourne West.

We are delighted to hear that our masterplanning and detailed design work at Beaulieu has contributed to it being a finalist in the RTPI Excellence in Planning for Homes – Large Schemes award 2019.
