We're celebrating significant progress for future residential-led development in north Lancaster, with the recent approval of Taylor Wimpey's hybrid planning application for 58 homes, open spaces and local facilities on land at Slyne Road. The application site forms the first phase of the larger housing allocation referred to as ‘North Lancaster Strategic Site’.
Randall Thorp first started masterplanning the allocation site on behalf of Taylor Wimpey back in 2016, initially preparing landscape evidence and a masterplan to support the emerging allocation. Following the success in obtaining the allocation, we went on to prepare the ‘Comprehensive Masterplan’ document which details the vision and provides the development framework to guide all future development of the strategic site. We have also subsequently worked closely with Taylor Wimpey to coordinate and prepare the Design and Access Statement for the recent Phase 1 hybrid planning application.
This is the first stepping stone towards creating a community of 700 new homes in the North West, complete with local facilities, public spaces and infrastructure, and we're proud to be working with Taylor Wimpey to unlock the potential of this site, and make it an attractive and sustainable place to live.
