Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment, Green Belt Assessment, Grey Belt Assessment, Landscape Strategy

The commission brought together landscape and visual assessment, Green Belt and grey belt assessment, and a landscape strategy to support an outline planning application. Our role included reviewing the emerging masterplan prepared by others, advising on landscape sensitivities and identifying opportunities to integrate the development into its surroundings.

The landscape and visual assessment considered the site’s character and visibility, informing design advice and mitigation proposals. Alongside this, our Green Belt and grey belt assessment examined the site’s contribution to Green Belt purposes and its potential identification as grey belt, providing site-specific evidence to inform the planning case.

The landscape strategy translated this advice into principles for the treatment of the site, with ecological liaison to coordinate planting and biodiversity opportunities. These inputs supported the submitted outline planning application, which is awaiting determination.
