A great little informal after work team event last week - GOOD SPACE / BAD PLACE? Where we visit a local city space and critically assess it to determine if we think its a great city space or a terrible bad place.
Fortunately we all agreed that Kampus is a GREAT CITY SPACE. So congrats to the team at Exterior Architecture and their clients at Capital&Centric, you don't get an award but you did get a pint for being such good sports!

Last week we had the pleasure of welcoming a student from URMSTON GRAMMAR to join our team for their work experience week. Although not a designer, Lazo used his knowledge of geography and his research skills to assist with some of our landscape planning projects, proving that landscape architecture in its many forms can be a great career choice, not just for designers.
Planning approval in Leeds

We are delighted that our work on placemaking has assisted our client Redrow Yorkshire in securing planning approval for 289 new homes in West Ardsley. The scheme will feature a large swathe of green space and the focal point of the retained Haigh Wood through the centre, providing a brilliant environment for families looking to put down roots.
Taylor Wimpey submit RM application for 270 new homes in Formby

We are delighted to have assisted Taylor Wimpey with their Reserved Matters planning application for 270 new homes on land at Brackenway, Formby.
For this latest stage of the project, Randall Thorp prepared detailed landscape proposals and provided Design Justification Statement coordination services. The application delivers almost 12 hectares of public open space which includes a significant extension to a Local Nature Reserve. A network of open grassland and drainage ponds will be created across the site, along with a new on-site play area, extensive ecological enhancements, and improved footpath connections through out the site.
Taylor Wimpey Reserved Matters success in Cheshire East
15 March 2022
Cheshire East planning committee resolved to delegate approval of a scheme for 325 homes at Land West of David Whitby Way, Crewe. Randall Thorp assisted Taylor Wimpey with their Homes England tender, and subsequently provided landscape and Design Justification Statement (DJS) coordination services for the application.
The site comprises the residential element of a wider project involving a health centre, offices, restaurants and more, which had secured outline approval in 2016.
Progress at Grand Union Phase 1
